WHAT
VIA will be replacing track components, performing track surfacing, rail destressing, rail milling as well as rehabilitating public grade crossings to improve track conditions.
WHY
For safety purposes and to comply with current federal regulation.
WHERE
On the Alexandria, Beachburg, Smiths Falls, Brockville and Chatham Subdivisions.
WHEN
April 15th to November 14th 2025. Most of the work takes place at night.
Specifically (dates are subject to change) :

The work to be performed is linear: work in a specific location can be expected to last a few days.
