This is to inform you that following a freight train incident in the international rail tunnel between the United States (Port Huron) and Canada (Sarnia), VIA Rail Canada will work with its partner railway (CN) and administer a temporary change to railway operations in your community, on the Chatham subdivision.
WHAT: Temporary circulation of six (6) CN freight trains per day on the Chatham subdivision.
CN trains will be scheduled to run on the track during the day and at night on a temporary basis.
WHY: To ensure continued railway operations while the incident in the international rail tunnel between the United States (Port Huron) and Canada (Sarnia) is resolved.
WHEN: Ending July 10. The following schedule is approximate and is subject to revision or adjustment as necessary.
WHERE: The operation will occur on the railway corridor on the Chatham subdivision (see map).
