VIA Rail Canada is pleased to provide advanced notice to residents of upcoming track infrastructure upgrades along the railway corridor in your community.
WHY: For operational purposes.
WHAT: Rehabilitation of crossings within the railway right-of-way.
Work is planned to take place over the course of one to two nights in each location. For operational reasons, it will occur while trains are not operating on the tracks (between 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM) and will require a limited closure of the road perpendicular to the tracks. These track infrastructure upgrades might cause some noise and VIA Rail will aim to limit inconveniences resulting from this work.
WHEN: The following schedule is approximate and is subject to revision or adjustment as necessary.
End of July 2019
- County Road 28 Crossing (Elizabethtown-Kitley, Ontario)
- Work is planned to be carried out on the night of July 20th to July 21st with road closed at that date from 8 PM to 10 AM. Work is set to continue on the night of July 21st to July 22nd with a partial closure of the road (1 lane) on July 22nd during the day, from 7 AM to 5 PM.
- For more details about road closures and detours, please contact the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville at 613-342-3840.
WHERE: The work will take place within the railway corridor on the Brockville subdivision at pinned location (see map).
